Street Haven

Supportive Housing

About us

Street Haven’s Supportive Housing program offers permanent, affordable housing to women who are facing significant barriers to independent living due to experiences of trauma, mental health issues, or substance use. The program supports 32 women across three residences located in Toronto, providing a safe and nurturing environment where residents can heal, grow, and thrive.

Key Features of Supportive Housing:

  • Individualized Case Management :

Residents receive one-on-one support tailored to their unique needs, including goal setting, health referrals, and crisis intervention.

  • Life Skills Development :

Programs are designed to enhance skills such as budgeting, cooking, cleaning, and conflict resolution — fostering confidence and independence.

  • Community Integration :

Women are encouraged and supported to build social networks, access community resources, and participate in meaningful activities that strengthen their sense of belonging.

  • Permanent Housing Stability :

Unlike transitional housing, supportive housing offers long-term tenancy, helping women maintain housing while managing ongoing health and social challenges.

Our Supportive Housing program is ideal for women who require ongoing support in a structured, yet independent environment, empowering them to live safely and autonomously while still having access to the care they need.
